Tour Overview
From USD 280.00 Per PersonThe Machu Picchu Day Tour is a memorable journey to one of Peru’s most remarkable archaeological sites, Machu Picchu. On the trip we pass by the magnificent Sacred Valley with its mountainous Andean scenes and winding Urubamba River. The whole process is also relaxing and motivating but with a smooth flowing schedule throughout.
We come out early in the morning and so the day starts in an organized manner. The tour goes on through a scenic train ride which runs between Ollantaytambo and Aguas Calientes. Once there, we get time to stretch, sightseeing the town or even have a coffee before moving on. Then it is a short bus that takes us to the entrance of Machu Picchu.
An exploration of Machu Picchu is an unusual experience. On a guided tour, we are going to learn its history, structure, and the work of the genius of Inca engineering visiting its central terraces, temples, and outlooks. The tour provides a strong sense of their history and a permanent impression of this magnificent place.
The Machu Picchu Full Day Tour begins early and at 3.45 a.m., the participants will be picked up at the hotels located in the historic center of Cusco. In case we are not staying within this area, we will come up with a meeting point. We shall then continue to the station of the Inca Rail and make a sightseeing journey by passenger vehicle to Ollantaytambo, which is a scenic journey taking approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes via the Sacred Valley.
At approximately 6.00 a.m. we are going to take the train to Aguas Calientes. It is a 1 hour and 45 min ride and throughout the ride we will have magnificent scenery of the Andes and the Urubamba River running along the tracks. After we arrive, our personnel will welcome us in the station and walk with us to the major square where we will get all information regarding bus tickets, entrance, and making the visit to Machu Picchu.
We shall get a little free time to take breakfast or simply rest before heading to the bus station. Then we will board the Consettur bus which takes us approximately 35 minutes to the entrance Machu Picchu after passing a winding road through the green mountains.
Upon arrival, we will embark on a guided tour, approximately 2 hours of visit to the key attractions such as terraces, temples, and views accompanied by historical and engineering knowledge of this astounding site. The experience will be followed by some free time that can be spent either exploring the place, making photos or just having fun.
We will then go back by bus later to Aguas Calientes where we will attend lunch or walk around the town. We will board the train again in the evening, at about 7:00 p.m. to get into Ollantaytambo where we will be picked up. At last we will come to Cusco, reaching there about 10.45 p.m. and we will put you out of your hotel to complete the day.
