About this activity
Experience one of Peru’s most scenic and remote routes on the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu 5D/4N, a journey that blends striking landscapes, physical challenge, and cultural insight on the way to Machu Picchu. Since its very beginning, this adventure will involve mountain climbing through glacier valleys and highlands and under the Salkantay Mountain.
One of the greatest attractions is the Salkantay Pass at an altitude of above 4,650 meters, which is compensated by panoramic views. Subsequently, the passage leads to a drier cloud forest, with a greenery of the most diverse vegetation, rivers, and waterfalls, which make an impressive contrast between nature.
Every day is filled with adventure and comfort such as planned accommodations or camps, food, and expertise to make the local culture and nature come to life. This is followed by a hike to Aguas Calientes where a well-deserved night rest is to be enjoyed prior to the last visit.
On the last day, visit terraces, temples, and sightseeing points of Machu Picchu and learn the excellence of Inca engineering. The Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu includes guides, meals, accommodations, and entrance tickets, ensuring a complete and memorable experience.

Lisandro took us around Machu Picchu on a private tour. We were just with 2 persons and him as the guide. Liked it very much, being private. Easier to listen to the things he tells us than being in a group. He told lots of information and knew all the right places for the perfect photo. Unfortunately not the best weather, but we had a great time!
