Tour Overview

The Qeswachaka Tour Cusco is going to provide us with 24 hours of clean air, excellent scenery, and authentic culture. Cusco and its surrounding areas will be visited and we will pass by small towns, witnessing how life in the highlands is. The scenery will be surreal with gigantic mountain ranges, silent farms and serene Andean settlements.

We shall arrive at the well known Qeswachaka Bridge which is a suspension bridge constructed entirely of ichu grass. We shall cross it and touch it pass over the Apurimac River. Locals will demonstrate the ways they construct the bridge annually according to the ancient methods. The combination of nature, tradition, and a touch of adrenaline will turn the moment to be memorable.

We will also experience the highland views on the back trip, and discuss the day. We will not forget the bridge, the hospitable people and the grandiose mountains. When we return to Cusco, we will feel that we have been in another world all day.

Early in the morning, at 4:30 A.M. We will leave Cusco. The motivation will pass through the serene South Valley. The ride will be surrounded by mountains and open fields. Andean villages will be found on each side of the road with silent everyday life.

We will proceed to the Canas Province. The scenery will become broader as we go further into the Cusco region. There will be small farms and alpaca herds on the way.

We will start with the four Andean lakes. These are Acopia, Pomacanchi, Pampamarca and Asnacocha lakes. In both lakes, there will be water that is clear, gentle hills and indigenous birds. We shall have a photo and few walks breaks.

Then we will arrive at the district of Quehue. In this case the path will take us to the canyon of the Apurimac River. The initial perspective of the Qeswachaka Bridge will be the one of the community of Q’ewe. The scenery will be opened up to deep ravines and powerful river music.

We shall take a short path to the Inca suspension bridge. We will watch people constructing the Qeswachaka Bridge with ichu grass that is woven. It is 28 meters and is located above the rapid river. We shall pass across the bridge gradually and experience its vibration and power.

We will also visit a small village nearby after visiting the area. We shall be received with smiling faces by local families. We are going to have a typical Andean lunch prepared using fresh local products. The trip back to Cusco will remain casual and scenic.
