Tour Overview

This Titicaca Lake  tour is one of those life moments that feel simple, but stays with you long after it ends. From the moment you head out onto the lake, everything slows down. The vast blue water and the open sky make it feel unique.

The  trip begins with a visit to the floating  islands of Uros, where families live on  islets  erected entirely from totora doormats. Walking across the soft  face feels strange at first, but you  snappily get used to it. The people will be happy to explain how they  make their homes, maintain the  islets, and continue traditions that have  was for generations.

After Uros, the experience continues deeper into the lake with the Amantani Island and route. Spending time on these  islets gives you a more  particular look at life on Lake Titicaca. On Amantani, you stay with an original family, where you’ll share reflections, and experience  diurnal routines that haven’t changed much over time. It’s simple, warm, and  veritably genuine.

Taquile offers a different atmosphere, with wide views over the lake and a strong sense of community. The  islet is known for its  fabrics and traditions, and walking its paths feels calm and  slow. There’s no rush then, just time to enjoy the  geography and the stories behind it.

By the end of this Tour, Lake Titicaca no longer feels like just a place you visited. It feels like a world you were curtly part of. This is the kind of trip that’s not about checking sights off a list, but about understanding a way of life that continues to live still on the water.

We will start our first day  stint by leaving the hotel in Puno very early and heading to the main boat pier. On the way, we will stop snappily so we can buy some snacks or drinks if we want. Our original musician will hail us with Andean  warbles once we board, setting a fun and lively mood for the day. The  companion will introduce himself and explain what we will do on Lake Titicaca.

Our first stop will be the floating islands of Uros, where we will see the unique Totora doormats that form the  islets. Original women in traditional clothes will partake in the  islet’s history. The  islet chief will explain how these communities survive and thrive using only the natural coffers around them. We'll also learn some words in Aymara and explore the small floating  village.

We'll have the option to ride the classic Totora reed boat, paying the locals directly if we want the experience. For those who prefer, we can continue on our motor boat. While on the  islets, we will walk around, enjoy  prints, and buy original  crafts if asked. The calm lake and peaceful decor will give us a perfect  preface to Titicaca life.

By afternoon, Our host family will hail us and show us to our private room. The  islet will be simple but serene, with no electricity or running water, helping us connect with nature. After lunch with our hosts, we will hike up to Pachamama and Pachatata, two peaks offering grand evening views over the lake.

. Subsequently, we will pack our  effects and walk to the boat pier for our lift to Taquile Island. On the boat, we will enjoy lake views and spot floating islets along the way. The tour companion will introduce us to the fishes set up in these waters.

Upon  appearance on Taquile, we will hike up to the main galleria and  standpoint, covering about 8.2 kilometers. Along the way, we will see locals in traditional clothes tending fields and weaving  fabrics. The  vill head will show us the dyeing and knitting process, explaining the  islet’s rich traditions. We'll stop at  shoes to  respect panoramic  lookouts of the lake and  girding  islets.

At the main plaza, we will have free time to explore, interact with locals, and take  prints. Our  companion will point out unique artistic practices and tell stories about  islet life. Then, the community will work together in  husbandry, weaving, and tourism, giving us a full  sapience into original life. Walking these paths will show us how Taquile balances tradition and everyday living.

After the hike and disquisition, we will take a boat trip back to Puno. The lift will give us a chance to relax and reflect on the two days spent among the  islets. We'll return to our  hostel feeling refreshed and inspired by the lake, the culture, and the amazing high- altitude decor .
